Treat your loved one to a sweet Valentine’s Day
What two things spring to mind when you think of Valentine’s Day? Well if you are anything like me, the answer will be chocolate and flowers (I know, I’m an old romantic at heart). This year ditch the flowers and instead give your loved one the gift that will keep on giving… a one day chocolate workshop at Exeter Cookery School. That’s one whole day working with and, yes, eating chocolate! And what’s more, they will get to take chocolate home with you at the end of the day (the gift that gives back). Or better still, why not share the love and both come along.
Chef Jim Fisher will start off the day with an introductory chat over tea or coffee. Then it’s on to the star of the show – chocolate.
What the Chocolate Cookery Workshop will offer
First off is tempering. We temper chocolate to give it that characteristic ‘snap’ and shine and to prevent it melting so readily in the hand. It’s all about aligning the crystals in a way; and is quite an art to master – a task that we make seem easy and stress-free.
After tempering your chocolate you’ll make all manner of chocolaty delights from chocolate shapes for decorating cakes and desserts to white or dark chocolate soufflés.
Lunch will be a delicious buffet with a dessert you’ve made as part of the course. In the afternoon, you’ll continue to make more chocolate creations before the course finishes at 4.30pm at which time you’ll be given your chocolate masterpieces to take home with you to share with your loved one.
So, what are you waiting for? Now we’ve got you drooling, book onto our Valentine’s Day chocolate course today!
Alternatively, if your loved one is not a chocolate fiend, why not let them choose a treat by giving them a gift voucher for any half day, full day or evening course at Exeter Cookery School.
